“Education over hype. Every tasting is designed to build real understanding — not to impress, but to open up the glass so guests walk away knowing more than when they arrived.”

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a tasting cost?

$50
Per Hour
$20
Per Person

Pricing is $50 per hour plus $20 per person, which includes a take-home whisky tasting glass for every guest. Bottle costs are separate — see below.

What will we be tasting?

That’s the fun part — and it’s entirely up to you. During the consultation, I’ll work with you to build a curated list around whatever sparks your group’s curiosity. A few directions a flight can take: a comparison across whisky types like bourbon, rye, single-malt scotch, and Japanese; a distillery-focused lineup such as Eagle Rare, Blanton’s, E.H. Taylor, and Stagg side by side; rare and sought-after bottles like Pappy Van Winkle; vintage dusties such as Old Crow or Wild Turkey from the ’70s and ’80s; or a flight of single barrels spanning a variety of brands.

What about the whisky itself?

Bottle costs are additional. I’ll work with you to curate a custom selection of bottles for your event, tailored to your budget — you’re welcome to purchase them yourself, or I can provide them at my cost. Either way, the flight is tailored to your group and occasion.

Can the glasses be personalized?

Yes. For an additional cost, I can arrange custom engraving on the take-home glasses — your company logo, a name, a date, or a message. A memorable keepsake that makes corporate events and special occasions stand out.

How long is a typical tasting?

Most tastings run one to two hours, depending on the size of your group and the depth of the flight. We’ll settle on the right length during your pre-event consultation.

Where can a tasting be held?

Tastings can take place at private homes, offices, event venues, or restaurants. If you’d like to host at a restaurant, I’m happy to help coordinate the event or dinner directly with the venue.

Do you travel outside the DC metro area?

Yes. While I’m based in the DMV, I’m glad to bring a tasting to you beyond the immediate area — just ask. For locations outside the DC metro, the only addition is coverage of the extra travel time and expenses, which we’ll work out together up front.
